Zerg can't realistically do that to Terran. Their job is to stop you from getting your economy up. ![]() Zerg in SC2 is designed to macro first, then max out supply quickly, then reactively build/replace units based on what their opponents do.Įarly Zerg play is about using Queens and a few Lings to defend yourself, maybe Spore/Spine Crawlers depending on what you scout.įor Comparison: Early Terran play is about getting Reapers/Hellions into your mineral lines, harass you with Medivac Drops, Liberators, Banshees and even Battlecruisers. Zerg used to be known for early aggression that would allow them to expand while their opponent was busy defending. The identity of Zerg has changed from SC1 to SC2. I would really like to see zerg become a more zergy rushy harrassy race, rather than the defensive economic race they have become in sc2. I personally think it would be cool to see some maps where your base is not a pre-made castle, and maybe other races would need compensation for that, but I think it would be interesting to see. If you prefer the game without ling rushes that is fine, I just find it sad that such an iconic thing is gone. IMO zerg has strayed from the swarmy aggressive race it was meant to be into this turtling expanding race which is very sad. Idk how you could bring it back but it would be nice. Often zerg rush is the only thing a person knows about starcraft, but maps are designed specifically to prevent them from being viable. There hasn't been for a long time, but it is still sad to me that the most iconic thing in starcraft, the zergling rush, is no longer a thing.
